A few days ago, the two houses of the Legislature released their “one-house budget bills.” These documents outline the Legislature’s position on Governor Hochul’s budget proposals for fiscal year FY 2024-2025, which would begin on April 1, 2024. The Governor unveiled her budget proposals in January 2024, and her 30-day amendments followed with significant proposals for LHCSAs, FIs and MLTCs. In this article, we summarize the Legislature’s position on the Governor’s proposals and then offer some predictions and updates.
